What's On?

As usual there is a lot happening at the DOAC over the next few weeks.
Here are some events you might want to enter into your diary:
Computers 4 Learning 4 Life

Enrolments starting early to mid August for this 11 week introduction to computers training. The course covers basic computer operation, word processing, spreadsheets, internet and email. This is a wonderful course for those with a little computer experience but don't yet feel really confident when using the technology.

This session will cover how to purchase an eReader, how to purchase eBooks, how to borrow eBooks from the State Library system and how to manage your eLibrary using the free software Calibre.

All You Need To Know About The NBN
August 19, 10am - 12 noon
Cost: No Charge

Nigel Jessup from Telstra will be joining us to give a short talk about the NBN. He will be showing some videos and will answer any questions you might have about what is happening in Deloraine and the surrounding areas concerning the NBN, including the cut-off date for the copper network for those premises in Deloraine that have the fibre network available. He will also be discussing the fixed wireless/satellite services for those not in the fibre network area.
