Fund Raising Night @ Weegena

In May, the Weegena community got together to raise funds to help Dunalley rebuild their Hall, that was burnt down in the fires that raged through their community in January of this year.  They recognised the importance of the hall to small communities and believed this would be a significant way of helping the whole community.

On a beautiful autumn evening, they had a bouncy castle and the Supersillyus Circus to entertain the children, while inside the hall, raffles were held, while bands played.

First up were The Swampies getting everyone in the mood, next was Southwind & Friends.

By this time, people just couldn’t sit still, they were up dancing Celtic style to the Celtic music, as you do.

Just before a very sumptuous and filling dinner was served, we were treated to some beautiful classical music.

The night was rounded off with The Rustlers playing, while everyone enjoyed the mood that can only come from gentle people revelling in the company of each other.

The Weegena community was so appreciative of the bands, the classical group, the stage management of Barry Higgins and the Sound Management of Ian Howard who generously donated their time and equipment to make their night so successful.

They managed to raise just under $2000, to go to the Dunnalley community to help rebuild their hall.
